Just So Silver

Just So Silver is a new online silver jewellery specialist and they are stocking some of my pieces. The website launched a few weeks ago and looks gorgeous - I think their photography is absolutely fantastic and demonstrates how important good images are when selling anything online.

Here's a pic of one of my pieces from http://www.justsosilver.co.uk/ - go and pay them a visit!

This is my favourite bracelet that I've ever made and seeing it photographed like this almost makes me want to buy it back!

It's about time...

I thought it was about time I started a blog to keep everyone updated on what I'm making and how I'm using all the lovely beads I've bought. This week has been a busy one for me so this might be a long entry!

First of all, some fine silver charms arrived that I had ordered from Clare Scott. Last month I used a pair to make some earrings for my friend Jody's birthday and I decided to ask Clare to make me some more. Here's how they looked when they arrived....

As soon as I got them I started getting ideas of what to do with them and then changing my mind every five minutes. The little stars reminded me of the star of Bethlehem so I decided to hang them on a delicate chain and then add bundles of pearls that look like snowdrops. In the end, they actually make really nice bridal earrings and I'm thinking about making a matching necklace to go with them.

On Wednesday night I paid a visit to Jo @ Daisychain Designs for an earrings workshop. I've been wanting to learn more about working silver wire and I love wire-wrapped jewellery. I joined five other girls for the workshop and made a lovely pair of earrings using Amethyst and silver wire. I even got to brandish a flame torch which was very exciting! Here's the earrings... I've just bought a torch and some wire (which should arrive tomorrow) so expect to see more like this in the near future :-)

Then last night (on a different note) I attended the PRide Awards which is a ceremony to reward the work of PR professionals each year. I was nominated for two awards for a campaign I worked on throughout 2007 and early this year. I've been nominated before and not won so I wasn't expecting much... well, I walked away with both awards and a big smile on my face!! It felt good to be acknowledged for my hard work and for a project that I really enjoyed executing.
